Have a Merry Christmas everybody!!!
Every year we make resolutions. Some are important like quitting a bad habit. Some are just to change or improve your life. And then some are things you just want…
My resolutions are the same every year. To live in a warm climate and have more time to draw and paint. Well I almost made it last year! However it just wasn’t meant to be at this time in my life. Things happened that I had no control of but hopefully everything will work out in the next couple of years. The good thing is that I’ve reconnected with a good friend, have a nice home and my dog is happy. I’ll keep making the same resolutions and you never know, I might come up with some new ones! It doesn’t hurt to dream.
I haven’t been blogging much lately and I blame the weather.
We’ve had snow and freezing rain almost every day since November. It’s been brutally cold since November. There have been about 5 sunny days since November. Okay these might be slight exaggerations but they’re not too far off. People who actually like winter are fed up!
If this keeps up I’m going to throw myself under a snowplow and end things once and for all!
As my dog is always chewing something (sticks, dry food, biscuits…) it never occurred to me that his teeth would be bad. So I was really surprised when his vet said he would have to have some teeth removed as well as cleaned. I felt terrible! But it had to be done. He seemed fine when I took him in on the day and actually trotted off with the technician without a backward glance. That should have been my clue to how he was feeling towards me. I knew he was in good hands, but that didn’t stop me from worrying.
I was so relieved when they called to say he was resting comfortably and could be picked up later that evening. I thought for sure he would be happy to see me but when they brought him in he made right for the door with a glance my way that spoke volumes (of swear words)! It wasn’t until just before bedtime that he acknowledged my presence and that was only when I gave him a little snack.
Well it hasn’t been that long and he’s already finding sticks on our walks and happily chewing away as if he hadn’t lost a single tooth.
Time seems to fly by so quickly these days that I’m finding it harder and harder to get anything done. Work, laundry, house cleaning, groceries and the biggest time consumer of all getting dressed to go out in the cold, leave little time for fun things like painting and long dog walks. I know it’s probably an age thing but it would be great if I could just make time stand still for a bit…
or maybe my dog could help around the house now and then…
